WEEK 2
THE STAIR
Stair 1:
Underground to Middle Floor
In this set of stairs, I had aimed to contrast between the straight and the curved elements of the building. While there is still a feeling of rigidity due to the columns, it is softened due to the gentle curve that each stair follows.
Materials:
Each individual stair is cast out of concrete and kept white.

Stair 2:
Middle Floor to Upper Ground:
In this set of stairs, I continued with the rigidity and straight lines. Unlike the first set of stairs, there is a lock of curves. However, these stairs contrast with the building through the use of horizontal lines which cut through the heavy amount of vertical lines within the building.
Materials:
Similar to first set of stairs, in which each individual stair is cast in concrete and suspended from ceiling with concrete posts.
